A tourist destination is any place, big or small, which caters and attracts tourists, with tourism being either the primary, or dominant, economic generators for that area. The most popular forms of tourism destinations worldwide. Some examples are the Great Wall of China, Egypt, South America, the Galapagos Islands and of course the United States. In the United States, Las Vegas is probably the largest and most spectacular tourist destination, drawing millions of visitors every year. It has been said that Sin City is a city of gambling and glamor, but it’s no secret that Las Vegas draws millions of people each year to get their fix of excitement and action.

Cultural tourism, as the name suggests, refers to tourist destinations which draw visitors mainly to observe and experience the culture of that particular country or region. Some examples include ancient Greece, Rome, Turkey, Thailand, China, and the Galapagos Islands. Each country has its own unique culture, language, food and climate, and as a result, it is not easy to generalise and say which of these destinations offer the best chance for cultural tourism, though each country’s relative culture should be studied before deciding which destination to visit. The most popular ones in the United States are New York, Miami Beach, San Francisco, Seattle, Los Angeles, Dallas and Portland.

The main draws to any destination are its natural beauty, tourist attractions, the activities or events it offers, and its cuisine, wine, cuisine and shopping facilities or areas.
